No animal is more enshrined in the myths and legends of the peoples of the North than the wolf. For thousands of years wolves have competed with man for game and threatened his farm animals. Stories of attacks on people are usually exaggerated and most are fantasy. Once it was the most widespread terrestrial mammal, other than man, outside of the tropics. The wolf’s incredible decline from its former immense geographic range is due largely to human persecution and habitat destruction.

It is ironic that the wolf, once so feared and hated, has experienced an outpouring of popularity as the modern world realizes the consequences of the potential loss of this remarkable species. As a result, we see the use of more and more photographs of wolves in a diversity of publications all over the world.

Our Ultimate Wolves wildlife models shoot is designed to provide the most outstanding opportunity to photograph wolves that is available today. With the use of prime game ranch animals, we will photograph from three to twelve of these dynamic animals at a time. Our group will be able to see and photograph the dramatic behaviors of wolves in many social settings against pristine, snowy backgrounds and northern forests.

We have scheduled four full days of intense photography, posing the wolves in realistic and interesting natural situations. At times we will let the animals relax, play and frolic to capture their gregarious natures with our cameras. There will be little time wasted waiting for the animals to strike an aesthetic stance. We will maximize all possible time in the field to create outstanding photographs. On one of our days we will devise the ultimate wolf pack, working with prime animals in an authentic hunting situation and setting up a kill simulation using a road-killed deer as a prop.

Join us for an incredible experience photographing the Ultimate Wolves.

Day 1 (Jan 12 or Jan 17)
Participants fly to Minneapolis and transfer to Hinckley, Minnesota. We meet in the motel lobby for introductions and dinner. (D)

Days 2–5
Each one of our four photo shooting days may be set in a different environment and have unique photographic goals. We take close-ups of each individual wolf, a pair together, a wolf howling and other behaviors. We simulate a hunting scene, group interactions, running and play. There will also be many other predators ready to pose in the snow. (BLD)

Day 6 (Jan 17 or Jan 22)
Participants may depart at any time today. Transportation from Hinckley to the Minneapolis airport will take about two hours. You should plan your return flights for no earlier than noon. (B)
