Photoshop for Nature Photographers is designed as an introductory class to Photoshop CS2. This is an ideal class for anyone with little or no experience working in Photoshop, as well as for people who may have some experience but want a refresher on Photoshop basics. The class curriculum will focus on tools, techniques and information that is pertinent to nature photographers—and will not attempt to overload attendees with information about features that most nature photographers will rarely or never use while working on their images.

Although it is not the only digital imaging software on the market, Photoshop is clearly the industry standard and most widely used imaging software available today—and with good reason! This powerful program offers a wide array of useful tools and allows for seemingly unlimited creativity. You値l learn the shortcuts and strategies to make your workflow more productive when preparing your images for straight/unaltered reproduction, as well as some useful techniques for creative image manipulation, including multiple imagine stitching for panoramas. And as an additional benefit, we池e confident you値l find working with Photoshop extremely enjoyable and rewarding!

For one day we値l be in the field creating images at a nearby zoo or game park (Atlanta—Georgia Aquarium, San Diego—San Diego Zoo, Seattle— Northwest Trek). Before we shoot, we値l first review the techniques for capturing the best possible digital image.

The next four days will be spent in the classroom where we will work on state-of-the-art desk top PCs and Epson printers. After covering some important basic information about working with digital images on our first classroom day, we値l jump right into working with Photoshop. Our aim is to cover an array of the most important tasks and features to get you up and running—and benefitting from the power of Photoshop—as quickly as possible.
